I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jacob at A1 Driving School.

My daughter Mikailla began Driver’s Ed absolutely terrified of driving. When she was younger, she had been involved in a very serious rollover car accident, and ever since then the thought of getting behind the wheel filled her with fear and anxiety. As a parent, I truly wasn’t sure she would ever feel confident enough to drive.

Then she met Jacob.

From the very first lesson, Jacob showed an incredible amount of patience, kindness, and understanding. He never rushed her, never made her feel embarrassed about her fear, and always created a calm, supportive environment where she felt safe to learn. He had a way of gently encouraging her while still respecting her pace, which made all the difference.

Little by little, lesson by lesson, he helped her rebuild her confidence. What once felt impossible for her slowly became manageable, and eventually something she could do with pride.

Because of Jacob’s support and encouragement, Mikailla is now a confident and capable driver. Without his guidance, I truly believe she may never have gotten behind the wheel again.

Jacob doesn’t just teach people how to drive, he helps them believe in themselves. We are so incredibly grateful for the role he played in helping my daughter overcome something that once felt so overwhelming.

Absolutely the best decision for a driving school. The online course was a bit repetitive, but it helped reinforce the information needed to become a great driver.
My in-car instructor, Josh C.,was an amazing instructor. His data and information based teaching style paired with a calm and encouraging demeanour was integral to me passing my road test easily and confidently the first time.
I will be back in about a year for a G2 exit preparation lesson or two.

As a complete beginner with a lot of fear behind the wheel, I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor than Shaun. On my very first day, even though I was nervous, he trusted me enough to let me start driving right away — and somehow, just seeing him beside me gave me confidence.  He always knew exactly where I was going wrong and corrected me in a way I could never forget. His teaching style is so simple and clear that even the things I struggled with eventually became easy for me. I needed extra classes to catch the pace, and he supported me through the process.

Communication was always smooth, and he was very accommodating with daily pick-ups and drop-offs for lessons, which made the whole process stress-free.

Today was my test day, and my Instructor made sure I had a solid practice run before the exam. I honestly thought I wouldn’t be able to do it — but I passed my G2, all thanks to his guidance.

My experience with A1 driving school has been top notch! As a mature student working towards my G2 I was incredibly nervous to drive and even embarrassed that I was not yet a licensed driver. My instructor was professional and highly skilled. They were able to meet me where I was, nerves and all, and make me feel comfortable and safe as I learned how to drive with them. I just passed my G2 road test today, and I’m beyond grateful to A1 Driving School, especially my instructor Jacob, for helping me get here. As someone who recently moved to Canada, I was completely new to the driving rules here. I was super anxious and scared behind the wheel, but Jacob truly changed that for me.

He was so patient and calm, never shouted, not even once. Instead, he’d laugh off my mistakes and turn them into valuable lessons. He broke down every difficult maneuver into small, simple steps, which made things so much easier to understand. Now I can even perfectly perform parallel parking :)

Jacob even noticed when I was holding my breath while driving because of anxiety, and he’d distract me with jokes or by asking about my day just to help me relax. Thanks to him, I can now drive confidently and without fear. I’m genuinely so thankful I got to learn from someone like him. If you’re nervous about driving or just starting out, I 100% recommend Jacob and A1 Driving School!
